What Windows 10’s end of updates means in Pueblo

Microsoft ended security updates for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. That date has passed. A Windows 10 PC will usually still turn on. It will not receive those patches.

For email, banking, or work, an upgrade is the sensible next step. A spare machine that never goes online is a different case. The shop can tell which one you have after a quick look.

How to check the version

Press Windows key + R, type winver, and press Enter. If the window says Windows 10, updates have stopped. If it already says Windows 11, this does not apply.

What the shop does

Windows 11 upgrade is $179.99: backup, clean install, and restore. Bookmarks and saved passwords when they can be moved. Drivers, LibreOffice, Windows Defender, and a basic cleanup.

Microsoft’s in-place upgrade button is picky. Machines it marks as “can’t upgrade” often still take a clean install. If the upgrade cannot be done, there is no charge.

When replacement makes more sense

If the computer is already failing (board, screen, or a clicking drive), paying for Windows 11 on top of a large repair can cost more than a replacement. That gets said before work starts. Price first, same as the rest of the shop.

If the only need is files off a machine that will not be used again, say so. That is a different job.

Monday–Friday 10am–3pm. Saturday by appointment. Book a Windows 11 upgrade or walk in.

Pueblo West and Colorado City are available as drive-outs for an added fee. Drop-off on Elizabeth Street avoids the mileage.
