Windows 10 updates stopped. Here’s what that means in Pueblo

Microsoft stopped security updates for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. That date is behind us. If you’re still on 10, the machine usually still turns on. It just doesn’t get those patches anymore.

I’m Adam. Shop is Pueblo Computer Help at 2727 N Elizabeth St. People have been walking this in since last fall: “It still works. Do I have to do anything?”

Yes, if you use it for email, banking, or work. No panic if it’s a spare that never goes online. I’ll tell you which one you’re holding.

How to see what you’re on

Windows key + R, type winver, Enter. If that window says Windows 10, that’s the one that stopped getting updates. If it already says Windows 11, you’re not in this boat.

Call (719) 629-7837 if that screen looks like Greek. Bring it in. I’ll read it with you.

What we actually do

We do a backup, a clean Windows 11 install, and put your files back. Same $179.99 that’s on the Windows 11 page. Bookmarks and passwords when we can. Drivers. LibreOffice. Windows Defender. A little cleanup.

Older machines Microsoft says “can’t upgrade” are often fine with a clean install. The in-place upgrade button is picky. A clean install is not the same button.

If we can’t do it, you don’t pay.

When I tell you to replace it instead

If the machine is already dying — board, screen, drive clicking — paying for Windows 11 on top of a big repair can be throwing good money after bad. I’ll say that out loud before we start. Same rule as the rest of the shop: price first.

If you just need the files off and you’re done with the PC, that’s a different job. Say so.

Drop it off

Mon–Fri 10am–3pm. Saturday by appointment. Book Windows 11 or walk in.

Need us to come to Pueblo West or Colorado City? That’s a drive-out fee on top. Or skip the mileage and leave it on Elizabeth Street.
