What we see
Computers that won’t boot but the drive is fine. Drives that are dying slowly. Laptops that got dropped. Old desktops in the closet with the only copy of the family pictures. When the drive still works, we can usually move your files off. When it doesn’t, it’s harder — we tell you that straight, and sometimes we have to find parts for the drive.

What to do right now
If the drive is clicking or grinding, turn it off. Don’t keep restarting it to “see if it works this time.” Every try can make it worse. Bring the whole computer, or just the drive, to the counter.
How we do it
You bring it in during hours, or book a time. I look at it and tell you what I think we can get before we start. We copy what we recover to another drive. You come pick it up. If the old computer is worth fixing, laptop repair and desktop repair are the prices on those pages.
How long it takes
Depends on the drive. A healthy drive in a dead computer can be quick. A failing drive takes longer, and if we have to order parts, we tell you. You get the timeline at check-in.

Turn it off and stop restarting it. Every try can make it worse. Bring it to 2727 N Elizabeth St.
Do I need to bring the whole computer?
The whole computer is easiest. If you already pulled the drive out, bring just the drive.
